Tottenham manager Pochettino promises a serenade if a trophy arrives

Mauricio Pochettino has promised he will serenade supporters in a duet with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy if Spurs win a trophy this season.

Tottenham have never gone a decade without lifting a trophy but their last triumph came eight years ago in 2008, when they overcame Chelsea to win the League Cup.

Spurs nearly repeated the feat last season, only to lose to the Blues in the final, but Pochettino's promising squad has shown plenty this term to suggest the drought could soon be over.

The White Hart Lane side are fourth in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Arsenal, in the Europa League Round of 32 and kick off their FA Cup campaign with a third-round home tie against Leicester City on Sunday.

Last season, his first at the club, Pochettino promised to achieve "something special" by the end of year two and, although he does not remember saying that, he made an even more enticing promise -- one for which his chairman may not thank him!

"I promised something special? I need to check that," Pochettino told a news conference on Friday. "I promised Daniel [Levy] last night I'll sing if we win a title but only if he's with me to sing together!"

Pochettino was unsure which song he would pick -- one suggestion was "Ossie's Dream", Spurs' 1981 FA Cup final song performed by club legend and fellow Argentine Ossie Ardiles -- but the manager said the duet could take place on the White Hart Lane pitch.

"Afterwards we can decide [the song] but why not sing together? I promised! I'll sing in front of -- I don't know who -- but he'll sing with me! Maybe in the stadium in front of our supporters."
