Liverpool's Jerome Sinclair set for Watford, rejects Anfield deal - sources

Liverpool striker Jerome Sinclair is closing in on a move to Watford, sources have told ESPN FC.

Sinclair, who scored in last week's FA Cup draw with Exeter City in his first start for the club, is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season and has rejected the offer of a new deal.

A number of clubs at home and abroad have been credited with an interest in the highly rated 19-year-old, but Watford are in pole position to land the forward.

Sinclair could see out his contract and leave for free in the summer, but Liverpool are prepared to cash in on him now rather than receive a compensation fee when his deal runs out.

Watford are determined to win the race for Sinclair's signature and are prepared to push through a deal this month rather than wait and try to sign the England youth international in the summer.

Sinclair would provide cover for Watford in attack, and sources told ESPN FC that the Hornets feel he could develop into a future star at Vicarage Road.

Sinclair is the youngest player to have ever played a first-team match for Liverpool, making his debut in a League Cup clash against West Brom in 2012 aged 16 years and six days.
