The bromance between Mesut Ozil and Mathieu Flamini shows no sign of waning despite the French midfielder having left Arsenal.
The former teammates are even taking their friendship to a cringeworthy new level by making it the topic of a new Mercedes Benz advert.
Simply a great guy 😎👍🏼😉 @mathieuflamini #WhatDrivesMesut #Bromance #Bro https://t.co/xrjCPUH30C

Ozil, who is sponsored by Mercedes, included his best buddy in the latest of a series of commercials with the theme "What drives Mesut," where they discuss the importance of their relationship.
"He was like a big brother to me, with whom I spend a lot of time in London," Ozil says of Flamini, who left the Gunners last summer and is playing for Crystal Palace this season. "Luckily, he still plays in London and we still get to hang out a lot. I am just grateful that I have met such a great guy."
Awww.
Exactly what that has to do with cars is a bit unclear, but the friendship between the two has been well documented in the past. They spent three seasons together at the Emirates and quickly struck up a close bond that became a frequent source of jokes at the club. In 2015, their teammates unanimously voted them "Best bromance" of the season.
"They go to the gym together. If one of goes to the toilet, the second one is behind him," Laurent Koscielny said of them. And Theo Walcott added: "Them two will always be together. I wouldn't be surprised if they even shared a house together... Every time they get a massage they're together."
And according to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, the friendship only started because Flamini was star struck when Ozil joined the Gunners in 2013.
"I think Flam just wanted to be friends with Mesut Ozil when he first came to the club if I'm being honest," Oxlade-Chamberlain said. "He seemed to latch on to him like a leech."
