AC Milan were outclassed in a 4-1 defeat to Roma at the San Siro on Sunday night in another abject and disappointing performance. Two goals from Edin Dzeko and one apiece from Stephan El Shaarawy and Daniele De Rossi sealed the win for the visitors. The Rossoneri are now without a win in their last four as they continue to stumble toward the end of the season.
Positives
There's little to take away from the loss to be positive about. The best thing for Milan this weekend was that Inter, Fiorentina and Atalanta all dropped points too in the race for Europa League qualification.
Negatives
The lineup was devoid of quality from top to bottom. With the midfield failing miserably to stamp their authority on the game, Roma overran Milan throughout with a blunt attack and porous defence adding to the nightmare.

6 -- What more can Vincenzo Montella do? He can be criticised for some of his decisions but this squad isn't up to the task. Manuel Locatelli and Carlos Bacca will be scratching their heads over not being involved at all.

GK Gianluigi Donnarumma, 7 -- Produced some stunning saves as it could have been a lot worse without him. Will be annoyed about not stopping the penalty, but he couldn't have done much for the three goals prior to that. For the first time, there is a growing fear as to what he's seeing in front of him.
DF Mattia De Sciglio, 5 -- Struggled to first contain Diego Perotti, and El Shaarawy's introduction didn't see him improve. A safe display for the most part, but not influential in the slightest.
DF Gabriel Paletta, 4 -- Outmuscled in the physical battle with Dzeko on more than one occasion and rarely looked in full control. Sent off late on after some really poor defending as he hauled Mohamed Salah down.
DF Cristian Zapata, 5 -- Not a great performance by any means, but he did use his pace to good effect to cut out dangerous situations. The Colombian centre-half looked tidy at times but also vulnerable on other occasions.
DF Leonel Vangioni, 5 -- While he was limited from an attacking perspective, he also had his hands full with Salah and Emerson Palmieri. A late inclusion after Davide Calabria's injury in the warm-up, it wasn't one of his better displays this season.
MF Mati Fernandez, 5 -- Showed glimpses of his energy and ability to play between the lines but offered no steel or authority in midfield as Milan were overrun. It's questionable as to whether he'll stay on the team moving forward.
MF Jose Sosa, 5 -- Arguably did the most out of the midfield trio, but that shouldn't be taken as a positive assessment. Tried his best to orchestrate but was often too slow and passive in general as Milan had little control over the game.
MF Mario Pasalic, 5 -- It was Pasalic's season wrapped into one game on Sunday night. The Croatian midfielder scored a much-needed goal but otherwise did little to influence the game. It was another average performance from an average player.
FW Suso, 5 -- Since the Palermo win, the Spaniard hasn't been at his best. Pops up in dangerous positions but hasn't had the quality on the ball to make the difference. Given how important he is to Milan in the final third, they need so much more from him.
FW Gianluca Lapadula, 5 -- As always, the tireless forward offered energy and urgency up front. However, that was as good as it got. Didn't offer a real threat from an attacking point of view as he was often isolated and was marshalled well by the Roma backline.
FW Gerard Deulofeu, 5 -- A similar story for the loanee in that he continued to probe with his dangerous runs and technical skill on the ball but there was no end product again. He's undoubtedly trying his best, but the quality isn't there when it matters.
Substitutes
MF Andrea Bertolacci, 5 -- A decent effort from the Italian as he came on at the start of the second half. Added a bit more fight in midfield, but not enough to influence the game.
FW Lucas Ocampos, 5 -- Finally, he made a telling contribution with an assist for Pasalic's goal. Apart from that though, it was much of the same from the loanee.
DF Gustavo Gomez, N/A -- A very late introduction after Paletta's sending-off.
