Petr Cech has proved that when it comes to goalkeeping, he's just as accomplished on ice as he is on the hallowed turf of the football pitch.
Three days before Arsenal's first game of the Premier League season, the Czech veteran dashed off to make a special appearance in an exhibition ice hockey game in his native country -- a testimonial for former NHL star Martin Havlat.
Doing his best Dominik Hasek impression, Cech took to the ice for one period of the game, conceding three goals in the process.
"I had to promise Arsenal that I would come back immediately after the match," the 35-year-old told local reporters.
"I've got training in the morning, it was only a quick trip.
"You have to know your limits, do it reasonably and don't get too tired. Spending one period on the ice is good exercise for me, a great experience and very enjoyable."
While Cech impressed in the smaller goals, it might be premature to anticipate a call-up to the Czech national hockey team for February's Winter Olympics in South Korea.
