Fernando completes move from Sampdoria to join Spartak Moscow

Brazilian midfielder Fernando completed his transfer from Sampdoria to join Russian club Spartak Moscow on Monday.

Fernando, 24, only spent one year in Italy after his move from Shakhtar Donetsk last summer.

He made 35 Serie A appearances, scoring four goals, but

The reported €13 million move will net Sampdoria a tidy profit after they paid just €8m for him a year ago.

Also on Monday, Sampdoria allowed injury-plagued midfielder Nenad Krsticic to leave the Marassi.

The 26-year-old Serbian managed to make 101 appearances, scoring three goals, over six seasons with Samp but a succession of injuries meant he spent most of the last two years on the sidelines.

The Genoa club announced they had rescinded Krsticic's contract "by mutual consent," thanking the former Bologna loanee for his commitment and wishing him luck for the future.
