Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has indicated that he will offer Alexandre Lacazette a new contract to make sure he is happy at the club.
Arsenal have already had a €35 million bid for Lacazette rejected and Aulas, 67, insisted last week that the striker would be staying at Lyon despite reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain as well.
Lacazette, 25, scored in a 3-2 friendly win over Benfica on Sunday and afterwards Aulas said he is planning to offer the France international an improved deal.
"We're going to try to find a solution so that he feels good and that he appreciates the relationship that links us," Aulas said, according to L'Equipe.
The French season gets underway next Saturday with the Trophee des Champions curtain raiser between Lyon and PSG.
PSG are defending league champions and Aulas said Lacazette, who scored 21 goals last campaign, is key to his club's chances of challenging them in Ligue 1.
Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso rejected the chance to join Napoli last week and Aulas is sure that Lacazette, whose current deal runs until 2019, is content to stay too.
"He's rarely been in such form at the start of the season," Aulas said. "He's prepared himself -- he has the mental strength.
"He sees that Corentin Tolisso has stayed, among other reasons, because of him and to show him that he should stay [as well].
"On the other hand, to try to find a solution so that he realises that he's one of the most important components, if not the most important, we know how to do that.
"In any case for me the subject is closed... there are no other offers and there won't be.
"He will be here because we like him a lot, we need him, we want to qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League, we want to try to win the Trophee des Champions and we don't want to leave more room for PSG [to become more dominant]. Otherwise there will no longer be much interest in the French league."
