Leroy Sane is officially the Premier League's fastest player ever after the Manchester City forward clocked a top speed of 35.48 kilometres per hour (22.05 mph) this season.
That time eclipsed Leicester City's Jamie Vardy, who had held the previous record for top speed in the competition since they started keeping records in 2014.
But who is the fastest player for each of the Premier League's other "big six" clubs so far this season? ESPN FC's club correspondents took a look at the times and gave their verdicts, and then we listed the 10 quickest across the whole division in 2017-18.
[Here comes the science part: The data is collected by the firm Chyron Hego, via their Tracab programme, and is distributed by Opta. The speed in kilometres per hour (km/h) for a given frame is based on the previous 15 frame-to-frame speeds. Out of the 15 frame-to-frame speeds, the four highest and the four lowest values are discarded, and the result is an average of the remaining seven values. All speeds for the 15 previous frames that are higher than 37 km/h are filtered.]
ARSENAL: LAURENT KOSCIELNY (35.11 kph) -- Koscielny is known to be one of the fastest centre-backs around, but it's still surprising to see him top Arsenal's list. Hector Bellerin has taken over Theo Walcott as the team's speed king and has been legging it up and down the flank in his new role as a wing-back, giving the Spaniard plenty of opportunities to show off his pace. But Koscielny's top speed was probably clocked while he was desperately chasing down a forward on a counter-attack after the Gunners left themselves too exposed -- those types of situations have a tendency to put the engine in overdrive. Arsenal's defence has looked solid in recent games, but there's a good chance they'll have to rely on Koscielny's speed to bail them out of trouble soon again. -- Mattias Karen
CHELSEA: ANTONIO RUDIGER (35.19) -- Centre-backs aren't normally the players who do the most sprinting on a team, so it's a little surprising that Antonio Rudiger sits at the top of Chelsea's list -- particularly with pace further forward in Antonio Conte's 3-4-3 system in the form of N'Golo Kante, Willian and Pedro Rodriguez. That said, Rudiger's speed across the ground was a key reason why the Premier League champions identified him as a good complement to their existing defensive options. It also makes him particularly useful in a back three, where he has already made the most of Gary Cahill's early season suspension to establish himself as a genuine contender for a place in Conte's strongest XI. There are few players in the Chelsea squad quicker than Rudiger, and even fewer that we haven't already seen this season. Eden Hazard could overtake him now that he looks like himself again, while Charly Musonda might also be a decent outside bet if he gets Premier League minutes. -- Liam Twomey
LIVERPOOL: SADIO MANE (34.84) -- Despite signing speedster Mohamed Salah in the summer, it's still no surprise that Mane leads Liverpool for pace so far this season. It's the trait that makes him one of the most exciting forwards in the Premier League. Last season Tottenham full-back Danny Rose admitted the Senegal striker was "frightening" and gave him his hardest game in years. The pace he is already managing to generate this term is even more remarkable when you remember he entered the 2017-18 campaign without a full preseason as he was still recovering from surgery on a serious knee injury that brought an end to his excellent first season at Liverpool. During the preseason, members of Liverpool's coaching staff curiously wondered who was the quickest out of Mane and Salah. Mane is winning that battle for now. -- Glenn Price
MAN CITY: LEROY SANE (35.48) -- Leroy Sane is the fastest Premier League player ever recorded, and it will come as no surprise to anyone who watches him regularly or the full-backs who try to stop him. The Germany international has clocked a speed of 35.48 km/h, which is why he is such a threat in Manchester City's lightning quick counter-attacks. But not everyone at the Etihad Stadium will be happy with the news, with Kyle Walker claiming he is the quickest on the team. The England full-back was recently given a lower speed rating on console game FIFA 18 than Sane, and Raheem Sterling said: "I am definitely quicker than him. Let's have a 100-metre sprint for charity. Not a problem. With us three, and I guarantee I will win." Sane responded: "He's faster than me? Maybe if you have to run for one year he's faster than me!" -- Jonathan Smith
MAN UNITED: PAUL POGBA (34.68) -- Paul Pogba has done well to top Manchester United's sprinting stats, considering the competition. Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku and Eric Bailly are all very quick. But Pogba, with long stride and relaxed technique, is faster than he looks. You need only ask the central midfielders who have tried to track his bursting runs into the penalty area. Pace, especially from midfield, was something that was missing during the two years under Louis van Gaal. It is little surprise, then, that Jose Mourinho did not mind splashing a world record fee to bring Pogba back to Old Trafford. United supporters are still waiting to see the best of the France international. It is a shame that a good start to the season has been halted by a hamstring injury that could keep him out until November. -- Rob Dawson
TOTTENHAM: MOUSSA SISSOKO (34.03) -- It should come as no surprise that Moussa Sissoko is Spurs' speediest player. His pace is the main reason the club agreed to pay Newcastle £30 million. Mauricio Pochettino wanted a different type of forward, who -- in the manager's own words -- could "break the line" and add a new directness to Tottenham. Sissoko has finally started to do that this season, galloping into open spaces with his curiously straight-backed running style, which has proved particularly effective away from home. He is not certain to finish the season at Spurs' fastest player though, particularly as Serge Aurier is not up-to-speed yet and Georges-Kevin Nkoudou and Danny Rose are yet to feature in the Premier League. -- Dan Kilpatrick
