Eusebio Sacristan was all smiles after Real Sociedad's 4-1 triumph over Las Palmas, with his team claiming their first home win of the season and two players also returning from injury.
Wednesday's La Liga encounter at the Anoeta Stadium saw the return of La Real midfielders Sergio Canales and Raul Navas -- players that had both been sidelined for extended periods.
Canales had not featured for the Basque outfit since sustaining an ACL injury in a game at Real Madrid on Dec. 30, 2015, but came on as a second-half substitute against Las Palmas.
"We are delighted to have Navas back after such a lengthy absence and we are also very happy with Canales' return," Sacristan said on Sociedad's official website. "This is all very positive news for us."
Navas started on Wednesday following a 15-month absence from playing due to a serious groin injury that saw him undergo surgery twice.
"This was a day that our fans and I had been waiting for," Navas said on Sociedad's official website. "I didn't think we would win by such a margin but for me this game was a double satisfaction for me."
Sociedad sit eighth in the Liga standings with two wins from their opening five games and visit Eibar on Saturday.
