Wales midfielder Joe Ledley could miss the World Cup qualifier against Republic of Ireland on Friday if his wife Ruby goes into labour before the game in Dublin.
The prospect of midfielder Ledley missing the game was raised by Crystal Palace teammate Wayne Hennessey, who spoke to reporters ahead of the Group D clash.
Ruby Ledley is due to give birth to the couple's third child a few days after Wales take on the group leaders.
Hennessey said: "Joe is hoping he doesn't get the call until the day after.
"He's not been nervous, he's been calm. He's used to it now... but let's hope she doesn't give birth before the game. I would be lost without him."
Republic of Ireland are currently four points clear of third-placed Wales and two ahead of Serbia in Group D.
"It will be a hostile game in terms of the crowd," Hennessey said. "It's difficult opposition but we know what they're all like. We know all about their players and their style of play."
