Midfielder Ogenyi Onazi says poor decision-making in the final third cost Nigeria in their 2-0 defeat to South Africa on Saturday.
The Nigerians fell at the hands of Bafana Bafana despite creating first half chances, and Onazi rued their inability to take chances.
"No one wants to lose. At the finish line, we needed to make some important decisions to get goals but we didn't do that," said the Trabzonspor player who captained the team on the day.
"If we had played the second half like we played the first half, things would have turned out better," he said.
Onazi also pointed to the absence of some of the experience players in the squad and promised that things will be better when they return.
