TROON, Scotland -- Saturday is moving day, and one of the things that was moving was the wind. That's to be expected in Scotland. What was not really expected was the direction of that wind. For the second day in a row the wind came from a direction only a few participating in The Open have ever seen at this course. Everyone had to play in it, so everyone gets graded on the same level, no curve today. Enjoy!

Jason did exactly what you're supposed to do on this golf course. No more, no less. Get as many birdies as you can on the front nine and then hang on for dear life on the back. But 36 percent of fairways and 56 percent of greens in regulation leaves room for improvement Sunday.

One hole cost Dustin a very good grade but sometimes that's all it takes. A triple-bogey on the 11th hole ruined his chance at back-to-back major titles. Maybe DJ can play Sunday as his first bogey-free round and throw a number on the board early.

Spieth's tournament was ruined on the course Friday. After his round Saturday, he admitted some of the comparisons to last year by the media are frustrating. There's a lot on this kid's shoulders after last year; hopefully he can play Sunday without that burdened feeling.

The front nine 37 (+1) was not acceptable at all. The back nine 36 (+1) was actually solid. The fact that Rory broke his 3-wood in anger is a good thing and it's why he gets the plus. If McIlroy needs to vent like that every now and then, so be it -- it doesn't mean you have to like it or do it yourself.

Bubba needs to try something different on the 11th hole because he's progressively getting worse. Watson has had 15 birdies this week so far, including five on Saturday, yet will probably finish his Open before the leaders tee off. You'd think it's because he's wild off the tee, but Bubba hit 10 of 14 fairways (71 percent), so that isn't the problem.

Tie the low round of the day? Check. Beat a five-time major winner head-to-head? Check. Put yourself in position to win your first major and be paired with the same guy you just beat? Check.

Check out these stats: 12 of 14 fairways, 9 of 18 greens in regulaton, and only 28 putts! So how in the world does the No. 7 player in the world shoot +5 for the day? With a quadruple-bogey, that's how. The four bogeys may have lowered the grade, but no one can pass having an 8 on a par four. The plus is for the three birdies.

Start with a double-bogey, end with a double-bogey, and throw an extra one in there just for good measure. Do NOT pass GO, do NOT collect $200. What's most frustrating -- and probably is for Adam too -- is starting the day at level he could just as easily have shot a round that would have him in the top 10 right now.

For the second day in a row Danny shot over par on the front nine. Will someone please yell at him, "That's the easy side!"? What's unbelievable is that Willett made one of only four birdies at the 11th hole on Saturday and shot even par on the harder nine! The sound you hear is me scratching my head.

Six fairways? No wonder the front nine wasn't under par. The good news is with play like this, Branden won't be in the top 10 by the PGA so grading him won't be necessary. For three days Grace has played the front nine for a combined even par. I'd love to see him have just one day where he lights it up, just to see what then happens on the back.

This is his home course, so Monty has seen every possible condition this course could ever be played in. To make the cut on the number would have thrilled the hometown fans. To shoot 79 on moving day broke their hearts and put Monty dead last going into Sunday.

Thirteen holes of bogey-free golf around this course and a few times it seemed as if Philly Mick should be playing the Mega Millions. When you only hit eight fairways and 10 greens in regulation, your putter better be there. Twenty-seven putts on the day says Phil's was there just fine. He's in position to win major No. 6 from the final group on Sunday and he has the media center -- and the golf -- world buzzing.

This guy they call "Beef" has the English golf fans walking around Royal Troon oblivious to the weather conditions. But believe me when I tell you, as great as his personality is, his golf game is just as good. Eleven out of 14 fairways hit and 27 putts gave everyone on site a reason to root for the guy who loves the fans just as much as they love him.
