NASCAR Hall of Fame hosts Pinewood Derby event

A Boy Scout tradition took off Saturday morning in the home for racing in the Carolinas... The annual Pinewood Derby at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

This time-honored tradition pits the tiny hand-designed race cars against each other in a contest of engineering skill.

Even though there are guidelines about the size and shape of the little wooden cars there were special division for "outlaw" cars and "vintage" cars more than 10-years-old.

That gave Dads and big brothers a chance to dust off their derby cars, and a few memories, while making new ones.

This is the second year the NASCAR Hall of Fame has hosted Charlotte's Pinewood Derby.
