Next weekend's UFC event has suffered a blow.
Aspen Ladd, who was scheduled to fight Sara McMann on the June 27 card, has been forced to withdraw after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in training, her manager, Dave Hirschbein, said Friday.
According to Hirschbein, Ladd will find out Tuesday whether she'll require surgery. If so, she's expected to be sidelined for approximately nine months.
According to sources, the UFC is working to find a late replacement to fight McMann but has not yet secured one.
Ladd (9-1), considered one of the best female bantamweights in the world, most recently defeated Yana Kunitskaya via third-round TKO in December. McMann (12-5) is coming off a unanimous-decision victory over Lina Lansberg in January.
The UFC event, headlined by Dustin Poirier vs. Dan Hooker, will take place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
