Providence PG Kris Dunn to enter NBA draft

Providence Friars redshirt junior Kris Dunn told ESPN on Tuesday that he'll sign with an agent and head to the NBA.

The 6-foot-3 point guard said he has no regrets about spurning the NBA a year ago and returning to Providence for his fourth season in college.

"None," Dunn told ESPN. "I'm happy with it -- and my family is happy."

Dunn took a thin Friars team to the NCAA tournament, where Providence lost to North Carolina in the second round.

Dunn averaged 16.4 points, 6.2 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game and shot 37 percent from beyond the arc. He was the Big East Player of the Year and also the league's defensive player of the year.

"I wanted to come back, get my degree and made the NCAA tournament," Dunn said. "I also felt like I improved my outside shot, even though it still needs work, cut down on my turnovers and became a better leader."

According to several NBA executives, Dunn is expected to be taken in the top 10 of June's NBA draft.
