Dwyane Wade drove to the basket for a potential game-tying shot in the final seconds of Wednesday's Game 5 between the Charlotte Hornets and the Miami Heat, but he was denied at the rim and didn't draw a foul call. Wade reacted to the no-call incredulously on the court, but that was nothing compared to the reaction of his wife, actress Gabrielle Union, who sent a flurry of tweets ripping the referees after the game.
Absolute BS!!!!! https://t.co/vEWbNrFR5z

They need to get fined. Period. Crappy officiating deserves a FINE and suspension. Not after the fact "oh well" https://t.co/B6CSxn4ck2

In all fairness I DID let refs know when they gave us calls we didn't deserve... his response "I thought you'd be at the concert" #FineEm

If players/coaches/owners get fined for complaints about poor officiating, makes sense that poor officiating =fines for the refs #logic

The last tweet in the series above included a screenshot of the play, which appears to show Charlotte's Courtney Lee hitting Wade on the forearm in addition to the body contact from Cody Zeller. The "2 minute report" Union referred to is the NBA's "Last Two Minute" report, which gets posted on the league's official web site following all close games. The report for Miami's Game 4 loss in Charlotte included four "incorrect no call" plays, three of which should have gone against the Heat. The report for Game 5 will be posted sometime on Thursday.
It remains to be seen what the report will say regarding Wade's shot or whether Heat coach Erik Spoelstra will be fined for telling reporters after the game, "Dwyane got fouled." But no matter what happens, Union is right about at least one thing: The NBA can't fine her.
