The basketball world reacts to Devin Booker's 70-point performance

Phoenix Suns guard Devin Booker dropped 70 points in Friday night's 130-120 loss to the Boston Celtics, and in the process, the 20-year-old broke a bevy of team and NBA records.

According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Booker became the youngest player in NBA history to score as many as 60 points in a game, breaking Jerry West's record when he was 23 years old during the 1961-62 season.

The second-year guard also produced the league's highest-scoring game since Kobe Bryant scored 81 against the Toronto Raptors in January 2006.

Naturally, the basketball world was quick to react to the historic performance, including the Black Mamba and several other current and former players.

Booker became just the sixth player to score 70 points or more in a game, joining Bryant and Hall of Famers Wilt Chamberlain, David Robinson, David Thompson and Elgin Baylor. Not only did Booker break the Suns' single-game scoring record, but according to Elias, he became the first player to score 70 points in a game without any prior 40-point games.

In 71 games this season, Booker is averaging 21.6 points and shooting 42.4 percent from the field.
