The Pistons' new logo appears to a bit of a throwback to the one worn by the franchise during the "Bad Boy" era. Led by Hall of Fame point guard Isiah Thomas and center Bill Laimbeer, the Pistons won back-to-back titles in 1989 and 1990.

"The bold red, white and blue color scheme and basketball icon have withstood the test of time through the evolution of the franchise and the city. And now that a new chapter is being written, that evolution continues with a new identity built on the Pistons championship tradition and promising future," the team said in a press release.
Back in November, the Pistons announced that they will be returning to downtown Detroit for the 2017-18 season, sharing Little Caesars Arena with the Detroit Red Wings.
The Palace of Auburn Hills, about 30 miles north of Detroit, had been the Pistons' home since 1988.
