The NFL has reinstated San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Anthony Davis from the reserve/retired list and he has been added to the team's 90-man roster.
The Niners opened camp on Saturday.
On Monday, Davis tweeted that he had filed his letter requesting reinstatement to the league and the team.

Davis, 26, took what was expected to be a temporary break from the NFL in June 2015, an announcement that came on the heels of a 2014 season in which he started just seven games and dealt with knee, hamstring and head injuries.
"You know, it's up to him," linebacker NaVorro Bowman said Saturday. "I think him leaving the game was him personally making the decision on himself. I think for him to come back it shows that he misses it, he wants it. This is not an easy game so when you make a decision to come back it shows that you still love the game and hopefully he comes back willing to work and just contribute the way that I know he can and the way the coaches know he can. So I'm excited about it."
Davis started 71 games in five seasons for the 49ers before he walked away.
While San Francisco has needed help at right tackle since Davis' departure, it's unclear what kind of physical condition he is in or what his role would be upon returning.
As it stands, the Niners have incumbent Erik Pears and Trent Brown set to compete for the right tackle spot in training camp.
To make room for Davis on the 90-man roster, the Niners placed nose tackle Ian Williams on the reserve/non-football injury list.
