INDIANAPOLIS - The Colts have placed linebacker Curt Maggitt (knee), starting safety Clayton Geathers (neck) and left guard Jack Mewhort (knee) on injured reserve, the team announced Monday.
Maggitt and Mewhort both suffered their injuries in Sunday's loss to Houston. Geathers has missed the last three games overall and the past two due to a neck injury.
Rookie T.J. Green will likely start for Geathers. Jon Harrison or rookie Joe Haeg are candidates to start at guard.
The injuries add to the problems for the Colts. Their loss to Houston put them in third place in the AFC South. The Colts (6-7) likely need to win out and have Houston and Tennessee stagger down the stretch in order to win the division and make the playoffs.
The Colts signed safety Duke Williams and elevated receiver Devin Street to the active roster from the practice squad.
