The Arizona Cardinals signed free agent linebacker Gerald Hodges on Sunday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The addition of Hodges comes after reserve linebacker Jeremy Cash was carted off from the Cardinals' preseason game against the Los Angeles Chargers with a knee injury.
Cardinals linebacker Deone Bucannon also has been sidelined with a hyperextended knee but could return to practice this week.
Hodges, 27, spent last season with the New Orleans Saints, appearing in 11 games.
He has 219 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 65 career games (26 starts) with the Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and Saints.
