Ex-Texas Longhorns coach Tom Herman joins Matt Nagy's Chicago Bears staff

Former University of Texas coach Tom Herman is joining Matt Nagy's coaching staff with the Chicago Bears as an offensive analyst.

Herman's official title is offensive analyst/special projects.

Herman, 45, was fired on Jan. 2 by Texas, which replaced him with Steve Sarkisian later that day. He was 32-18 as the school's coach, including 7-3 in 2020.

He also was the head coach of the University of Houston for two seasons and has been an offensive coordinator at the collegiate level for several schools, including Ohio State.

The Bears also hired Anthony Hibbert as assistant strength coach on Monday.
