Canada captain Al Charron passed a fitness test on Tuesday to take his place in his country's squad for what will be his fourth World Cup.
Charron was named in a 31-man squad on Aug. 18 with Canada officials saying the squad would be reduced to 30, as per International Rugby Board requirements, after the veteran forward's health was assessed followingknee surgery in June.

Charron has played for Canada a record 73 times, and captained the team 22 times.
Canada's squad also includes back-row forward Ryan Banks, who injured his knee while serving as acting captain at the Pan American tournament last month in Argentina.
Canada opens the World Cup on Oct. 12 against Wales in Melbourne.
