MINNEAPOLIS -- The Minnesota Lynx have re-signed eight-time All-Star Seimone Augustus, bringing the shooting guard back for a 14th season.
The deal was done Saturday, one day after WNBA teams could begin announcing free-agent signings.
"I couldn't be more excited to be re-signing with the only place I've called home in the WNBA," Augustus said. "Being a member of this franchise means a lot to me and my family and I'm ready to continue what we've built here, and that's a championship group."
Drafted by the Lynx in 2006 out of LSU with the first overall pick, Augustus is 11th on the league's scoring list, sitting six points behind Becky Hammon. Last season, Augustus played in 33 games, her highest total since 2011. She averaged 10.8 points and shot 46.7 percent from the field, the third-best rate among all WNBA guards.
The Lynx, who lost point guard Lindsay Whalen to retirement, signed free agent and former Dallas Wings forward Karima Christmas-Kelly on Friday.
Elsewhere in the WNBA, former All-Star Allie Quigley re-signed with the Chicago Sky, with whom she has played the past seven seasons.
"Chicago is already home to me but this organization and team feels like family," Quigley said. "I'm really happy and grateful to be back. I'm anxious for the season to start and am so ready to get Chicago back to the playoffs!"
Other moves since Friday -- the first chance players could start signing with teams -- included Dearica Hamby (Las Vegas), Crystal Langhorne and Mercedes Russell (Seattle) and Karlie Samuelson (Los Angeles) all re-signing.
Odyssey Sims will return to the Los Angeles Sparks after the team matched the offer sheet the guard had from Phoenix. Natasha Cloud also will be back with the Washington Mystics after the team matched New York's offer for the guard.
Other unrestricted free agents left unsigned include Rebekkah Brunson (Minnesota) and Alana Beard (Los Angeles). The two veterans are expected to return to their teams.
