Sky center Elizabeth Williams (knee) out for season

Chicago Sky center Elizabeth Williams will miss the rest of the season following surgery for a torn meniscus, the team announced Thursday.

Williams, 31, sustained the injury to her right knee during Chicago's 79-71 victory at Washington on June 6.

The former WNBA All-Star averaged 10.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks in nine starts prior to the injury.

Williams has career averages of 8.6 points and 5.9 rebounds in 287 games (235 starts) with the Connecticut Sun (2015), Atlanta Dream (2016-21), Mystics (2022) and Sky. She ranks 10th in league history with 445 blocks.

Drafted fourth overall by the Sun in 2015, Williams was named the WNBA's Most Improved Player in 2016 and made the All-Star team in 2017. She received the league's Sportsmanship Award in 2023.
