Moody says he'll retire at season's end

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Alabama women's basketball coach Rick
Moody said Tuesday he will retire after the season.

Moody has coached the Crimson Tide since 1989 and led the team
to eight consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, including a Final
Four appearance in 1994, and five straight trips to the round of
16.

But Alabama hasn't been back to the tournament since 1999 and,
at 13-12, could be on its way to a third straight losing season.

Moody spent his entire coaching career at Alabama and is the
Tide's winningest coach in men's or women's basketball with a
310-173 record.
