PHILADELPHIA -- It appears change is on the horizon for the Philadelphia Eagles' offensive line.

Veteran Chance Warmack took first-team reps at left guard during Wednesday's practice in front of Isaac Seumalo, who struggled in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and has had a bumpy start to the season overall.

Head coach Doug Pederson said earlier in the week that he didn't "want to push any panic buttons at this time" when asked about lineup changes, but the signs are pointing to a shakeup.

"Yeah, he had a bad game but he's a young player so you kind of want to see him grow and get through that, you know?" said guard Brandon Brooks of Seumalo, a second-year player out of Oregon State. "The change is quick and sudden. That's how the league is. Isaac will get through it. We're here to support him while also supporting Chance now that he's in there."

Brooks said they didn't learn of the switch until practice when Warmack lined up with the first team.

Warmack, 26, was originally a first-round pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2013. He started 48 games for Tennessee, but just two in 2016 because of a hand injury early in the season that landed him on injured reserve. The Eagles signed him to a one-year deal in free agency this offseason, then gave him an extension through 2018 earlier this month.

Reunited with his offensive line coach from the University of Alabama, Jeff Stoutland, the Eagles are hoping Warmack regains the form that made him a top-10 pick.

"I mean, obviously he was good enough to get picked in the first," said running back LeGarrette Blount. "He's obviously a good player. Opportunities are the biggest thing in this league. Once you get an opportunity, you've got to try and make the best of it. ... I think he's going to take advantage of it and do a really good job for us."

Seumalo was named first-team left guard at the onset of training camp as the Eagles traded last year's starter, veteran Allen Barbre, to the Denver Broncos for a conditional seventh-round pick. Barbre is starting at left guard for the 2-0 Broncos.

With Seumalo occupying the starting spot for the Eagles, Warmack was inactive for the first two games, but now seems to be in line for a significant role against the New York Giants Sunday.

"I don't know exactly what's going on with all that," said quarterback Carson Wentz, who has been sacked eight times already on the season, "that's obviously Coach's decision, but I've said this from Day 1: I've always felt extremely confident with the depth that we've had all throughout camp. Whatever five guys are out there, I'm more than confident they're going to do a good job."
