Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow the hot choice for Super Bowl MVP

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is the consensus favorite to be named MVP of Super Bowl LVI, but as the action at sportsbooks begins to heat up, Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is the hottest bet on the board.

Stafford is even money to win the award at some sportsbooks. Burrow is next at around 2-1, followed by Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp at 7-1.

Early on, the bulk of the action has been on Burrow. More bets and more money has been wagered on Burrow than on any other player in Caesars Sportsbook's Super Bowl MVP odds. Since Sunday, 30% of the bets placed and 36% of the money wagered has been on Burrow to be named MVP, according to Caesars. That's more than double the bets and money that's been staked on any other player.

At Caesars' sportsbooks in Louisiana, where Burrow quarterbacked LSU to a national championship, more than half of the money bet on the Super Bowl MVP market is on the Bengals quarterback. The book's three most popular player props, out of the hundreds offered in the state, involve Burrow. There have been more bets on over of 1.5 Burrow touchdown passes than there have been on any other player prop with Caesars in Louisiana.

The largest MVP bet Caesars has taken, however, is on Kupp: $6,000 at +700 from a bettor in Colorado. Even so, Burrow has attracted more than double the amount of money that's been wagered on Kupp in the MVP market.

A quarterback has been named MVP in four of the past five Super Bowls. The defensive player most recently to win the award was then-Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller in 2015. Miller is now with the Rams.

Los Angeles defensive tackle Aaron Donald has attracted more bets to win MVP than any other player at BetMGM sportsbooks. Burrow has attracted the most money.

The Rams remain consensus 4.5-point favorites over the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI, which kicks off in Los Angeles on Feb. 13.
