The Texas Longhorns have enjoyed a great last half of the summer on the recruiting trail, racking up commitments from six ESPN 300 and five ESPN Jr. 300 prospects since July 1.
In the past 24 hours, Texas has added two more ESPN 300 prospects to the tally.
Saturday morning, Quentin Johnston, the No. 60-ranked prospect overall in the class of 2020, announced he would be playing less than two hours from his home in Temple, Texas. The elite athlete, with a 6-foot-10 high jump to his credit, committed to Texas over TCU and had considered offers from Oklahoma and Notre Dame.

Johnston's commitment came less than 24 hours after the Longhorns reeled in one of the nations top safety prospects.
Xavion Alford, the No. 214 ranked prospect in the country, committed to Texas over Texas A&M on Friday in one of the few key head-to-head battles between the Longhorns and Aggies.

With the pair of pledges, the Longhorns now have 14 ESPN 300 and 15 four-star commitments in the 2020 class, headlined by running back Bijan Robinson and quarterbacks Ja'Quiden Jackson and Hudson Card.
In addition to the more than dozen ESPN 300 verbals, the Longhorns also now have eight prospects ranked in the top 103 of the ESPN 300 -- Johnson, Jackson, Card, Robinson, guard Jake Majors, DE Vernon Broughton, athlete Kitan Crawford and cornerback Ethan Pouncey.
Texas is a lock for a third straight top-10 recruiting class under coach Tom Herman, who now has a third straight top-five class in his sights after finishing No. 3 in 2018 and No. 5 in 2019.
The Longhorns remain in the hunt for No. 12 Kelee Ringo, No. 115 Alfred Collins, No. 184 Javian Hester, four-star cornerback Joshua Eaton and four-star running back Ty Jordan.
