The 2024 blink-and-you-missed-it Stanley Cup Final has its first potential elimination game as Saturday night's tilt has the hometown Edmonton Oilers staring a four-game sweep at the hands of the Florida Panthers directly in the eyes.
The Oilers, for the majority of periods, have played solid hockey. The difference in the series has been almost completely Sergei Bobrovsky and the Panthers' defense in key moments or opportunities. Stopping Connor McDavid on a breakaway here; forcing a dominant power play to exterior feints there ... and eventually you have a chance to clinch the Stanley Cup.

Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers
Rogers Place, Edmonton, Alberta; Saturday, 8 p.m. ET
Game 4 Puck line: Panthers +1.5 (-275); Oilers -1.5 (+200)
Game 4 Over/Under: 5.5 (even/-120)
Game 4 Money line: Panthers (even); Oilers (-120)
The Oilers are slight favorites on paper, but that's likely just because they are home and, c'mon, sweep? This can't be a sweep ... can it?
You bet it can. Despite the chasm the Oilers find themselves in, this whole series has been on a knife's edge. Digging completely out of this three-game hole is not going to be in the cards -- it has happened four times in NHL history. But I could see the Oilers having a game here, earning back a little pride and then taking the series back to Florida so the Panthers can celebrate their Stanley Cup on home ice.
Just keep fighting
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each to score anytime & Edmonton Oilers to win (+670)
None of the specials offered are as emblematic of the outcome I foresee as much as this one. McDavid and Draisaitl are especially in need of a little recovered swagger, with the Panthers limiting them to three McDavid assists combined. Having last change at home means the Oilers can try to keep at least some of McDavid's shifts away from Aleksander Barkov and his Selke-winning play.
Stanley Cup Final Game 4 odds boost
Leon Draisaitl or Carter Verhaeghe to score the first goal (+600)
Draisaitl is at +1,000 and Verhaeghe is +1,200 for this same bet individually. The fact you can still get this bet at +600 with the boost is a solid return. Verhaeghe has already paid out this bet once in this series.
Stanley Cup Final Game 4 super boost
Connor McDavid and Sam Reinhart to combine for over 9.5 shots on goal (+600)
This is a fun offer on the table, and I like the solid payout, but just a warning that, despite it sounding like an innocuous occurrence, this has not happened in the series yet. McDavid and Reinhart have combined for nine, three and seven shots on goal in each game of the Stanley Cup Final. They haven't hit the 9.5 threshold, and the average is 6.3.
2023/24 Conn Smythe winner
Aleksander Barkov (+450)
I want to highlight that I think there still might be merit in this bet. Bobrovsky (-500) has moved to a massive favorite, with Barkov the closest competitor. But the separation here has come on the backs of the past three games. Prior to the start of this series, Barkov had the better odds to win the Conn Smythe. Who's to say a bunch of goals by the Oilers in Game 4 and a sterling performance by the captain back in Florida to clinch the cup in Game 5 doesn't swing this race again?
