Nico Rosberg: Ferrari looks pretty close in Canada

Nico Rosberg thinks there was enough running in Friday's rain-affected practice sessions to see Ferrari will be a threat at the Canadian Grand Prix.

Rain fell in FP2, limiting the teams to just half an hour of running on the option supersoft tyres in the afternoon. Ferrari has used three of its ten engine development tokens ahead of this weekend and Sebastian Vettel's long-run pace suggested the team could challenge Mercedes.

"We did learn a lot, for sure," Rosberg said. "We ran low fuel with the soft tyre, a bit difficult to warm up the tyre because it's quite cold temperatures, but balance and everything was OK. Ferrari look pretty close so we need to look into that."

Rosberg thinks it is too early to read into Mercedes' long run pace.

"Long run was OK, got through everything - pace wise, I don't know yet."

Asked what Mercedes expects from the weather from the rest of the weekend, Rosberg said: "Dry, for now, hopefully, so that should be a bit more simple."
