Sauber's Marcus Ericsson has been handed two points on his superlicence for jumping the start of the Austrian Grand Prix.
Ericsson moved before the lights went out at the Red Bull Ring and appeared to hesitate after doing so as he briefly slowed down when the cars around him started. That forced Sergio Perez to take evasive action behind and he ended up making contact with Red Bull's Daniil Kvyat, who had to pit for a new nose.
Ericsson served a drive-through penalty for the infraction but after the race the stewards confirmed they would penalise the Swede further. He now moves on to five, more than any other driver on the current grid. He was given three during last year's Italian Grand Prix for failing to slow down for yellow flags.
Penalty points stay on a driver's licence for 12 months before being eradicated. Any driver who earns 12 in that time will be given an automatic one-race ban.
