Kimi Raikkonen to blame for last lap crash - Valtteri Bottas

Valtteri Bottas insisted his last-lap incident with Kimi Raikkonen at the Russian Grand Prix was not a racing incident and laid the blame squarely at the feet of his fellow countryman.

Bottas and Raikkonen had both dispatched Sergio Perez on the penultimate lap in the battle for the final spot on the podium. Raikkonen then launched a very optimistic move down the inside of Bottas at Turn 4 which saw him collect the Williams driver, taking Bottas out of the race.

Immediately after the incident, Bottas said on his radio: "What the f*** did he do?". Raikkonen eventually crawled around the circuit for fifth but was hit with a 30-second penalty after the race by the stewards, which demoted him to eighth.

After the race Bottas said: "I don't think it was really a racing incident. I didn't see anyone there, I was in front then at the apex someone hits me. Very disappointed obviously to be running third on the last lap and then ending up with zero points. Just disappointed."

Bottas was being interviewed before Raikkonen's penalty but he said the outcome of the stewards investigation was irrelevant as he was leaving Sochi with no points to his name.

"Should be, but I'm here with zero points. That's how we ended up today, just disappointed. It doesn't matter if he's penalised, because I'm never getting those points back."
