Kimi Raikkonen: Ferrari team orders 'not an issue'

Kimi Raikkonen has branded team orders a "normal thing" and admitted he is happy to adhere to any requests to help Ferrari team-mate Sebastian Vettel in the remaining four races of the season.

Vettel moved up to second in the drivers' championship at the Russian Grand Prix, splitting the Mercedes drivers. Although he is 66 points behind championship leader Lewis Hamilton he has a good chance of beating Nico Rosberg, who he leads by seven points, to second.

Raikkonen is a distant fourth in the championship, leading Williams duo Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa by 11 and 13 points respectively. Despite those small gaps he has no problem helping Vettel in the remaining four races if Ferrari needs it.

"Everybody knows what the rules are and this is a normal thing," Raikkonen said. "Obviously I'm not in the championship fight so if it comes to that it's fine. It's a normal thing. I try to make the maximum for the team. That's not an issue."

Raikkonen fell further behind Vettel at the Russian Grand Prix, where he was demoted to eighth after the race following a last-lap collision with Bottas. That late penalty also handed Mercedes the constructors' championship as it meant Ferrari can no longer overhaul the Backley team.
