Nico Rosberg set the fastest time in final practice for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, beating team-mate Lewis Hamilton by 0.281s.
Rosberg was quickest in the second and final sector on his second attempt on super-soft tyres, while Hamilton set the fastest first sector before running wide at Turn 5 and aborting his initial attempt on the quicker compound. Hamilton appeared to be struggling with his Mercedes at Turn 5 after an earlier spin left him facing in the wrong direction in the run-off zone.
Rosberg is running with a higher-mileage engine this weekend due to problems earlier in the season and is expecting to be down on power as a result, but so far has held the advantage over his team-mate in two of the three practice sessions ahead of qualifying.
Sebastian Vettel was third fastest in the Ferrari and just 0.048s off Hamilton in second. Force India's Sergio Perez continued his impressive form this weekend with the fourth fastest time ahead of the second Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen. Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo was sixth fastest and just within a second of Rosberg's best time, while Nico Hulkenberg was seventh in the second Force India.
Williams improved to eighth and ninth in the final practice session, but is still off its usual position in the top six, while Carlos Sainz managed to wrestle his Toro Rosso to tenth.
After Fernando Alonso managed the ninth quickest time in second practice, he dropped to 16th in FP3. However, McLaren team-mate Jenson Button set the 11th fastest time, suggesting the team could still be on for a improved performance this weekend.
