Sauber will wait until the second winter test to introduce its 2016 car, according to a report in Autosport.

Sauber still plans to attend the opening test on February 22-25 but will run a modified version of its 2015 car, the C34. That modified car will carry the livery it plans to run for the 2016 season, the report says.

The Swiss team, which will run Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson for the second straight season, then plans to bring out the C35 at the second Barcelona test, which begins on March 1. Modifications to the 21-race 2016 calendar last year brought the Australia opener forward by two weeks to March 20, giving teams less time to prepare their 2016 models.

Last year Force India missed the opening test in Jerez and then took its 2014 car to the track for the second test in Barcelona. It only debuted the VJM08 at the third and final test. This year the testing schedule has been cut from three to two tests, both of which will be held at the Circuit de Catalunya.

Williams plans to launch its 2016 car in the pit lane on the morning of the first test. McLaren has confirmed it will launch the day before, on February 21, while Ferrari plans an online launch at some point next month.
