Marcus Ericsson, Valtteri Bottas and Pascal Wehrlein have all been handed penalties after an action-packed Monaco Grand Prix.

The biggest penalty is for Ericsson, who will drop three places from wherever he qualifies next time out in Canada after a clumsy attempt at passing Sauber teammate Felipe Nasr at Rascasse. The Brazilian had previously been asked by the team to let Ericsson through but had refused, with the contact ultimately leading to retirement for both men.

The stewards named Ericsson the guilty party and handed him two penalty points on top of the grid penalty, meaning he now has six to his name. Two penalty points also went to Bottas for a collision with Haas driver Esteban Gutierrez, bringing him to four from the rolling 12-month period.

Manor rookie Wehrlein was handed his first four penalty points for two separate incidents in the race, for ignoring blue flags and for going under the minimum time delta under the Virtual Safety Car. Both earned him 10-second time penalties during the race itself.
