Force India is in no rush to decide who will partner Sergio Perez next season following Nico Hulkenberg's defection to Renault.

Hulkenberg's move means Perez will have a new teammate for the first time in three seasons, having been paired with the German in 2014. The team had hoped to retain both for 2017.

Deputy team prinicpal Bob Fernley says the decision will be down to owner Vijay Mallya but that discussions will not begin until next week at the earliest, as the team returns to the UK between races in Mexico and Brazil.

"It's Vijay's decision and we'll start those discussions probably when we get back next week," Fernley said. "I think we'll take our time, have a look at what offers are on the table, Vijay will make his decision and then we'll announce it."

The seat Hulkenberg will leave vacant has now become the most coveted on the grid, with numerous candidates including Pascal Wehrlein, Esteban Ocon, Felipe Nasr, Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer. Next week Williams is expected to retain Valtteri Bottas alongside 2016 European Formula 3 champion Lance Stroll, taking the Finnish driver off the driver market.

Renault is still deciding who will partner Hulkenberg next year, while Sauber and Manor have still not announced their 2017 line-ups.
