Toto Wolff admits he "would love" to give MotoGP legend Valentino Rossi and four-time World Rally champion Sebastien Ogier promotional tests in a Mercedes in future.

Earlier this year Mercedes handed three-time Moto GP champion and long-time Rossi rival Jorge Lorenzo a test in the team's all-conquering 2014 car at Silverstone. Lorenzo later called the test "a dream come true" and was reportedly immediately competitive in terms of lap times.

Lorenzo's test saw him follow in the footsteps of nine-time world champion Rossi, who tested a Ferrari F1 car in 2004 and 2008. During the late 2000s Rossi was frequently linked with a switch to F1 but it never materialised.

Mercedes boss Wolff admits Lorenzo's Silverstone test was a good marketing opportunity for the team and says he would like to see two of motorsport's other stars follow the Spaniard's example.

"I am aware that our sport is also a show," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I'd really like to test the skills of Rossi and Ogier in our cars. The idea would be to organise a track day with both of them."

A Mercedes test would be Ogier's first experience of a Formula One car.
