New McLaren executive director Zak Brown thinks fans will be excited about the team's 2017 car "both technically and visually".
American businessman Brown was appointed to his new role after the departure of CEO Ron Dennis in November last year. His job started on the eve of sweeping regulation changes for 2017 and the scrapping of the engine token system which restricted Honda's development since returning to the grid with McLaren in 2015.
The new rules will produce more aggressive-looking cars which should dramatically reduce lap time due to increased levels of downforce. McLaren's Fernando Alonso has predicted the cars will bring back the "wow" factor from the previous decade in the V10 and V12 eras.
Though Brown did not confirm when McLaren would launch the car, he said there is already a buzz about the 2017 challenger in the team's factory.
"We're working on the launch date right now," he said at the Autosport International Show. "It's going to be right before the Spain test, so late February. We've shown it to the guys and girls at McLaren and we're very excited for our future.
"We've just signed off on the car livery and I think the fans will be excited to find out what the car looks like both technically and visually."
Brown thinks fans are going to be impressed with all the cars on this year's grid.
"The cars are going to be faster and I hope the racing is better and closer. Anytime you get a rules shake-up, it means there will be someone will get it more right than anticipated and someone will get it more wrong than anticipated.
"The cars are going to be very fast, they look great and they are going to look meaner with these bigger and wider wings."
Testing begins in Barcelona on February 27, and is split into two sets of four-day events. The F1 season begins a month later in Melbourne on March 26.
