ESPN readers have voted Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel as the driver of day by a landslide margin following his victory at the 2017 Formula One season opener in Australia.
The German's popular win was the 43rd of his career and Ferrari's first since the 2015 Singapore Grand Prix. It also marked the first time a non-Mercedes-backed team or driver has led the F1 drivers' and constructors' championship since the V6 hybrid era began in 2014.
Notable absentees from the top three include three-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who finished a lowly eighth with just 55 votes (2 percent), and Red Bull's Max Verstappen, who came fifth with 80 (3 percent).
The vote included a choice of the top ten finishers from Sunday's race in Melbourne.
Results top 3:
Sebastian Vettel -- 72 percent (1,706 votes)
Esteban Ocon -- 5 percent (125 votes)
Valtteri Bottas -- 5 percent (117 votes)
