Tottenham Hotspur technical director Franco Baldini has left his post at White Hart Lane, the club have announced.
Baldini, 54, joined Spurs in June 2013 to assist with transfers during Andre Villas-Boas' reign as head coach, having spent two years in a similar role at Roma.
A statement on Tottenham's official website read: "We can confirm that Franco Baldini has left the club by mutual consent.
"He leaves us now to spend time outside of club football. We wish him all the best for the future."
Spurs appointed former Southampton scout Paul Mitchell as head of recruitment and analysis in November last year, and the Daily Mail reported in May that Baldini had felt marginalised since that time.
The Italian was responsible for a number of high-profile signings at White Hart Lane, including the likes of Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen, but Mitchell and coach Mauricio Pochettino are reported to have led the way with Spurs' transfer dealings this summer.
Baldini had made his name as a sporting director during his first stint at Roma, where he worked with manager Fabio Capello.
He resigned his post with the Giallorossi in 2005 and then linked up with Capello again as director at Real Madrid in 2006-07 before spending four years working as his assistant for the English national team.
