Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola said he was "very pleased" with his side's effort in a 3-0 win away to Darmstadt on Saturday.
Arturo Vidal and Kingsley Coman both scored their first goals in the Bundesliga for Bayern before Sebastian Rode netted against his former club to make it three.
"I'm very, very pleased," Guardiola said. "Our approach to the game was excellent. We conceded very few corners and free kicks, and we battled well.
The win over the newly promoted side came less than 72 hours after Bayern's win over Olympiakos on the Champions League on Wednesday, and Guardiola conceded the short window provided a challenge.
"It's not easy to come here and win after playing in the Champions League," he said.
To help relieve Bayern's regulars, Joshua Kimmich made his first Bundesliga start, while Sebastian Rode also started for the first time this season.
The game also saw the return of Javi Martinez as a substitute after the midfielder played just 62 minutes of Bundesliga action following a knee injury last season.
"I'm delighted for Javi Martinez, I've really missed him over the last year," Guardiola said.
"I'm also very pleased with Kimmich and Rode. Both deserve more playing minutes than I can give them, and they've shown me that again today."
Kimmich said he was ecstatic to get the opportunity following his move from RB Leipzig in the summer.
"Every kid who plays football dreams of appearing in the Bundesliga one day," Kimmich said. "If you then do so for Bayern it's obviously massive and I'm really thrilled today."
