The 29-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the Cardiff City Stadium after rejecting a new contract with Palace.

Dikgacoi was a regular in the Eagles side who finished 11th in the Premier League, partnering captain Mile Jedinak in the centre of the midfield as he made 26 appearances.

He played 114 times for Palace after joining them from London rivals Fulham, initially on loan and then on a permanent deal.

The midfielder becomes Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's fifth summer signing and joins former Reading forward Adam Le Fondre and ex-Manchester United striker Federico Macheda in Wales.

Spanish attacker Javi Guerra, who was signed from Valladolid, and Austrian midfielder Guido Bergstaller, who arrived from Rapid Vienna, are Cardiff's other recruits.

They have lost left-back Andrew Taylor to Wigan, while striker Fraizer Campbell and centre-back Steven Caulker have attracted interest from Premier League clubs.

Palace released 12 players at the end of last season, including defenders Danny Gabbidon, Dean Moxey and Jonathan Parr.
