Southampton have terminated Saphir Taider's loan spell after the Inter Milan midfielder "failed to live up to the high levels of commitment expected" during his brief stint at St Mary's.

Taider, 22, joined Southampton on a season-long deal from Inter last month as part of the agreement that saw Dani Osvaldo move to the Italian club.
However, the Algeria international has been sent back to the San Siro, having made just one preseason appearance for Saints.
A statement on Southampton's official website read: "Southampton Football Club can confirm that it has agreed to terminate midfielder Saphir Taider's loan spell.
"The midfielder joined Saints for the 2014-15 campaign but, having failed to live up to the high levels of commitment expected of Southampton players, that arrangement has been cut short by the club."
The Premier League side confirmed that Osvaldo's loan switch to Inter has not been affected.
Former Bologna man Taider is now expected to join Sassuolo on loan and could make his debut for the Neroverdi against Inter on Sept. 14.
