Ryan Taylor has assured Newcastle fans on Twitter that his injury sustained in Saturday's 1-0 victory over QPR was not as drastic as first thought.
Taylor, who was making his return to the Magpies' first team after nearly three years on the sidelines, lasted just 34 minutes on the pitch before a knock forced him from the field.
Newcastle boss, Alan Pardew, originally feared the worst, telling reporters after the match: "We are sweating with Ryan. Fortunately, his surgeon was here in the stands today, he had come to watch from America, so he's gone with him to hospital with our doctor, and we are just fingers-crossed on that scan."
Fortunately Taylor later took to Twitter to inform supporters that all was not as bad a first feared.
Thank you all for your positive messages. I appreciate them all, just to let you know I have no major problem an I had to come off today..

"I had to come off today just to be on the safe side. I was just gutted to come off that's why I got so emotional as I've worked so hard to get back. Thanks again."
