Argentine midfielder Dario Conca is joining Sven-Goran Eriksson's Shanghai SIPG on a reported $11 million salary.
The staggering salary reported to be offered for Conca's services comes only a year after the former Argentina under-20 international left Chinese Super League club Guangzhou Evergrande, for who he scored scored 55 goals in 100 appearances.
Conca, 31, had three successful years at Evergrande and former England manager Eriksson will be hoping the Argentine can play a pivotal role for SIPG. The player arrives from Brazilian club Fluminense where he scored 16 goals in 59 matches.
The attacking midfielder is the latest in a series of signings made by Eriksson in what appears to be an attempt to replicate the success of former Guangzhou boss Macello Lippi, who won four successive Chinese titles.
Shanghai SIPG have not mentioned the length of the contract or salary, but a report from Sina Sports News portal indicated it was worth $10.8 million, with other media outlets saying he would be signing on a two-year deal.
