He was greeted by hundreds of Rossoneri fans on his arrival at Milan's central railway station from Rome and said: "I didn't expect a welcome like this. I'm surprised, pleasantly surprised."
Earlier this week, Milan's general manager Adriano Galliani had held talks with Destro, who wrote on Thursday that the move would be going through.
And he said: "I didn't need any convincing. Milan are Milan, and I can't wait to get started."
Destro goes into the Milan squad for their clash with Parma on Sunday evening.
By the time the Rossoneri take to the field at the San Siro they could have dropped as low as 14th in Serie A depending on results elsewhere this weekend.
