Player Ratings: Michael Arroyo leads Club America to victory

America are the 2014 Apertura champions.

The squad now has 12 league titles to its name and is second to none when it comes to the all-time record.

The final match against Tigres was fairly balanced during the first half, but a cascade of red cards soon changed the attitude of the game. In the end, America was left with ten men while Tigres had eight. It was a dramatic 3-0 win for Las Aguilas and one that fans will surely talk about for weeks after Sunday's game.

Here are the player ratings for America during the second leg of the Liguilla final:

Player Ratings (1-10, with 10 the best. Players introduced after 70 minutes get no rating)

GK Moises Munoz, 7 -- Moises Munoz made a fantastic stop early in the second half but also had a couple of questionable moments during the first. Munoz almost let in an own-goal after miscommunicating with Pablo Aguilar and dropped a cross late in the first half. Either way, the goalkeeper can't be criticized too harshly when he didn't allow any goals for his team.

DF Ventura Alvarado, 7 -- In comparison to his last match, the 22-year-old had a much better performance. Ventura Alvarado was more composed in the back and provided a few build-up plays for America going forward.

DF Pablo Aguilar, 8 -- Pablo Aguilar didn't have the best defensive game, but was able to score America's second goal of the match. No matter what he did in the backline, the 27-year-old will, and should, be remembered for scoring a vital goal for his team.

DF Paolo Goltz, 7.5 -- Solid in the backline. Paolo Goltz did very well with his clearances and had little trouble against Tigres when they pressured the defender. Goltz had minimal work to do as the game progressed.

DF Osmar Mares, 6.5 -- The defender rarely made mistakes but was too conservative with his possession. Mares had little influence on the game but couldn't be faulted for not creating any negative situations for his squad.

MF Miguel Layun, 7.5 -- Miguel Layun had a few great crosses and runs but will walk away without a goal or assist during the match. The 26 year-old almost had a one-on-one with Nahuel Guzman late in the game but was fouled by Tigres' last defender. Not a bad performance from Layun, but one could tell that he was itching for a goal in this match.

MF Rubens Sambueza, 8 -- Fantastic game for Rubens Sambueza. The midfielder was everywhere on the pitch for America and was battling left and right for possession of the ball. Sambueza also helped create America's second goal of the match from a free kick that he took during the 61st minute.

MF Jesus Molina, 6.5 -- Jesus Molina dealt with plenty of the dirty work in the middle of the pitch but was at times dominated by Tigres' midfield players. After the flurry of red cards, Molina had almost no pressure from the opposing midfield players.

MF Michael Arroyo, 9 -- The player of the game. Michael Arroyo was on another level with his runs and interceptions on the pitch. Arroyo needed no help for America's first goal and should have had a second with his determination on the field. Great game from the Ecuadorian player.

FW Martin Zuniga, 6 -- Very quiet game for Martin Zuniga. The striker saw very little of the ball and was inconsistent with his passes in the final third. Zuniga was eventually subbed off late in the match.

FW Oribe Peralta, 8 -- Like Zuniga, Peralta struggled for possession early in the game but was eventually able to secure America's third and final goal. The striker solidified the win for America and will finish the season as the team's top scorer.

Substitutes

DF Juan Carlos Valenzuela, 7.5 -- The defender came on as a substitute for Martin Zuniga in the 65th minute of the match. Very little work for Valenzuela, but he was able to assist Peralta's goal during the 77th minute.

MF Luiz Angel Mendoza, N/A -- The midfielder came on as a substitute for Rubens Sambueza during the 73rd minute of the match.

MF Osvaldo Martinez, N/A -- The midfielder came on as a substitute for Ventura Alvarado during the 83rd minute.
