LIVERPOOL -- Everton boss Roberto Martinez insists John Stones is in the right frame of mind to face Tottenham on Saturday, and hopes to announce deals for Ramiro Funes Mori and Leandro Rodriguez on Friday,
Stones, 21, has been told he is staying at Goodison Park despite handing in a transfer request on Tuesday.
Chairman Bill Kenwright rejected that request on Thursday and indicated there was no chance of the England international being allowed to move to Chelsea, who have had three bids turned down this summer.
Stones was picked for Wednesday's Capital One Cup tie at his former club Barnsley, performing poorly despite Everton's 5-3 extra-time victory.
Martinez, though, has no doubts about continuing to select Stones, despite calling for the transfer window to be reformed so that players can be free of damaging speculation about their future during the opening weeks of the season.
Asked if Stones was in the right frame of mind to play at White Hart Lane, Martinez told his pregame news conference: "He will be, because he's at the perfect football club.
"The chairman was really strong yesterday. The fans are going to play an incredible role in helping John now.
"It's important to concentrate on the next game and help each other to help the players to enjoy their football. We need to forget about the speculation. Let's see it as a compliment that clubs are interested in our players."
Martinez, meanwhile, has indicated that deals to sign defender Mori and forward Rodriguez should be completed shortly.
Mori has been on Merseyside for the last week after Everton agreed a £6 million deal with Argentinian club River Plate, but work permit issues have delayed its completion.
Rodriguez has been training with the Toffees, with his move from the Uruguayan club River Plate Montevideo also set to go through.
Martinez added: "We're really excited. Ramiro has been in the building, and we hope it's going to be completed today.
"His international clearance could take a few days, but we're very excited about signing him.
"Leandro will be announced later today. He's someone who can produce a goal out of nothing and provides strong combination play. His goalscoring record in Uruguay is quite impressive."
